Moral harassment in the workplace is an abusive practice characterized by repetitive behaviors that expose workers to humiliating, embarrassing, and degrading situations. These actions can compromise the mental, emotional, and physical health of the victim, in addition to affecting their productivity and interpersonal relationships. In view of this, this study sought to understand the phenomenon of moral harassment in the workplace, its causes, legislation, consequences, and possible strategies for prevention and combat. In the methodological field, a bibliographic review was carried out, based on scientific articles, books, periodicals, case law, and current legislation on the respective topic. Data collection was carried out through databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar, among others, from 2020 to 2025. The results show that the consequences of moral harassment are broad and multidimensional: on a personal level, they generate psychological suffering, psychosomatic illnesses, and demotivation; on a legal level, they can give rise to civil, labor, and, in some cases, criminal liability; and in the social aspect, they reveal structural weaknesses in organizations, such as the absence of prevention policies, negligence towards abusive practices and the persistence of authoritarian and inhumane organizational cultures.
