This study describes the development of a low-cost, automated tool for inventory management in the solidarity pharmacy of Associação Remediar, aimed at populations in social vulnerability in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The research is characterized as a case study with a qualitative and exploratory approach, using Microsoft Excel combined with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming to structure the processes of medication registration, transactions, and queries. The results indicate that the tool contributes to traceability of movements, standardization and simplification of manual processes, error reduction, and support for managerial decision-making. Although it presents technical limitations, such as single-user operation and lack of access control, the solution represents a frugal, practical, and replicable innovation, with potential for expansion to other third-sector organizations facing similar resource and technological infrastructure challenges. The study highlights the importance of social technologies adapted to the reality of institutions to improve access to medications, optimize resources, and promote positive social impact.
