Osteoarthritis is one of the most common chronic pains in the Brazilian population, being characterized by the wear of joint cartilage, which, in turn, is caused by several factors. Physiotherapy has a variety of treatments that help promote symptomatic pain relief and patient rehabilitation. Among these resources, we can highlight techniques with therapeutic exercises and manual therapy. The objective of this work is: to review a bibliographic survey on elements that prove the effectiveness of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy in the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis. To answer this question, a survey of guiding and normative data was necessary, seeking to understand the damage caused to bone health, based on bibliographical research and a qualitative approach. Studies indicate that the joint or isolated application of manual therapy methods and therapeutic exercises can reduce pain and stiffness in patients suffering from osteoarthritis. Therefore, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy can help in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
