This article analyzed the contribution of physical therapy to the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in strength training practitioners. The search was conducted on the PubMed, LILACS, and SciELO platforms, using the descriptors "Physiotherapy," "Exercise," "Injury Prevention," and "Resistance Training," employing different term combination strategies with the Boolean operator AND. Studies published in the last five years, in Portuguese or English, addressing the role of physical therapy in strength training-related injuries were included. Duplicate articles, narrative reviews, theses, dissertations, articles without full text available, or those that did not directly address the proposed question were excluded. Of the 61 articles initially found, eight were selected after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study contextualizes the increased practice of strength training in contemporary society, highlighting its benefits for health and quality of life, but also highlighting the risks of injuries resulting from improper execution, excessive loads, and lack of specialized guidance. The research concludes that physiotherapy plays a fundamental role in promoting the safety and effectiveness of strength training, acting both in the control of risk factors and in the rehabilitation of existing injuries.
