The objective of this study was to describe the role of dermatofunctional physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of patients with third-degree burns, highlighting its effects on tissue regeneration, functionality, and skin quality. This is an integrative, descriptive-exploratory literature review conducted in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) between February and August 2025. Articles published in Portuguese between 2015 and 2025, available in full, and directly related to the proposed topic were included. After applying the eligibility criteria, 16 studies comprised the final analysis. The results showed that dermatofunctional physiotherapy contributes significantly to preventing complications, maintaining range of motion, reducing scar adhesions, and improving skin aesthetics. Techniques such as electrotherapy, phototherapy, manual lymphatic drainage, ultrasound, and kinesiotherapy have demonstrated functional and psychosocial benefits. It is concluded that dermatofunctional physiotherapy is essential in the rehabilitation process of severe burns, acting not only on the physical recovery, but also on the social reintegration of patients, although more research is needed on its effects on deep tissues.
