This article aimed to consider the importance of every Brazilian citizen's right to access quality health care. This review investigates the reasons why homeless people have difficulty accessing this basic right, which is guaranteed by the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988. It is a bibliographic research study, in which the study of 8 articles was conducted through a bibliographic survey in the databases. The results demonstrate that the homeless population is affected by various social and economic factors that lead to demotivation, and consequently, this population stops seeking healthcare centers, in addition to suffering prejudice and insensitivity from healthcare professionals, which worsens the situation. In this sense, ensuring that the homeless population has full access to basic healthcare, without prejudice, exclusion, or lack of professional sensitivity, is to guarantee the basic right of every Brazilian citizen to quality healthcare, as provided in the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988.
