This experience report presents the implementation of the project “The Beauties of the Pantanal,” developed with children aged 0 to 3 years in Early Childhood Education. The proposal aimed to promote children’s contact with elements of the fauna, flora, and typical cuisine of the Pantanal through sensory experiences, games, songs, and meaningful explorations. The project sought to value regional culture and expand the cultural and sensory repertoire of children from early childhood, respecting their individualities and encouraging integral development. The central issue that guided this proposal was the need to broaden the cultural and sensory repertoire of young children, providing diversified experiences that stimulate perception, imagination, and the construction of meanings about the world around them. Based on approaches that emphasize the importance of contact with culture and the environment for integral development (Vygotsky, 1998; Oliveira, 2002; Horn, 2004), the project demonstrated that planned, contextualized, and culturally relevant experiences strengthen emotional bonds, foster autonomy, and awaken a sense of wonder for nature and local culture.
