The article analyzes the struggle for recognition of women in Brazil, based on the philosophical perspective of Axel Honneth and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, specifically the gender equality indicator. It explores how women's recognition is denied within a context of deeply rooted cultural patterns and discriminatory practices. Despite legislative advances, cultural and social changes are essential. The study revisits Honneth's triad of spheres, addressing the question: "How do Honneth's spheres of recognition manifest in the reality of Brazilian women?" With a descriptive bibliographic approach, the analysis of the challenges faced aims to drive research on equality and social justice. The study promotes reflections for the development of public policies, as well as fostering continuous academic dialogue.
