This case study analyzed an accident that occurred during the energization of a primary metering cubicle feeder, operating at 13.8 kV, by the team of an electricity services company in southeastern Brazil. The accident resulted in injuries to the technical manager of the consumer unit and highlighted safety process failures. The objective of this paper was to analyze the event, identify flaws in safety procedures, and propose an action plan for continuous improvement in the corporate environment. The adopted methodology included a detailed analysis of the incident, identification of immediate, contributing and underlying causes, and a review of literature on occupational safety in electrical installations. Corrective and preventive measures were proposed based on best practices and applicable regulations. The findings included the precise identification of failures that contributed to the accident, the elaboration of a set of corrective and preventive measures, and the proposal of an action plan to implement these measures, aiming at the continuous improvement of safety in the corporate environment. It was concluded that, through detailed analysis of the accident and implementation of the proposed measures, it is possible to significantly reduce the risk of accidents and promote a safety culture at work, enhancing the efficiency and safety of energizing operations in electrical installations.
