Food and Nutrition Education (FNE) involves the implementation of organized strategies aimed at fostering healthy eating habits voluntarily, in addition to promoting the appreciation of food as an essential aspect of life. It is essential that adequate nutrition be cultivated from childhood, preventing food preferences from leading to excessive consumption of unhealthy options. In this context, schools are considered a favorable environment for the implementation of Food and Nutrition Education initiatives aimed at improving quality of life. Therefore, this article aims to investigate how FNE, when integrated into the school environment, can help develop healthy eating habits, encouraging conscious choices and health care. The research is based on a qualitative and exploratory literature review, using studies and documents that discuss FNE within the scope of public policy and educational practice. The findings show that the inclusion of EAN in educational institutions encourages students to take a leading role in building a more balanced eating culture, in addition to reinforcing the role of schools in promoting health and preventing diseases related to poor nutrition.
