Abstract

Short syndrome is a rare genetic condition that causes short stature, ocular and motor abnormalities, and developmental delay. This study reports on the physiotherapy intervention in a 1-year-and-8-month-old child diagnosed with the syndrome, who began treatment at 9 months due to motor delay. Sessions were held twice a week, focusing on global stimulation, balance, muscle strengthening, and gait stimulation. After seven months of follow-up, significant functional improvement was observed, with acquisition of gait, improvement in balance, and motor skills. Physiotherapy proved to be relevant for the patient's development and autonomy.
