Abstract

This article aims to report experiences of the Supervised Basic Internship III, in the 5th period of the undergraduate psychology course, at the Centro Universitário do Paraná - Uniensino institution, carried out in a long-term care institution, located in the city of Curitiba, Paraná, totaling 20 hours. It was necessary to hold observation meetings in the morning and afternoon periods, and the purpose was to present, describe, analyze and reflect on the internship location, a home that welcomes elderly people between 45 and 89 years old, as well as the importance of basic hygiene care, assisted feeding and mobility, multidisciplinary work in the various areas of health, such as: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, physical educator, doctors, nutritionists, nurses and specialized caregivers, thus enabling the humanization of work with ethics and responsibilities, always prevailing the quality of life of the elderly. The internship in the psychological area allowed us to analyze the scope of the necessary care and the responsibility that the psychological area should have, in order to meet this growing demand in our realities in the future.
