This study focused on investigating the perceptions and expectations that high school students from the Família Agrícola Cocais School have regarding the Pedagogy of Alternation school model. Rural Education is among the educational modalities in Brazil created to promote respect and human dignity across all social groups—this one specifically in rural areas—with the Pedagogy of Alternation, designed for the education of young people, being a practical materialization of Rural Education. Therefore, to achieve the objective, a qualitative research methodology was proposed, involving high school students from the Família Agrícola Cocais School in Piauí as participants, with data collected through an online questionnaire. The results showed that the Pedagogy of Alternation has been successful in achieving its primary goals, as the students expressed a realistic, critical, and positive awareness of the school model and especially of rural life, suggesting possible improvements at EFA Cocais. The study found that the Pedagogy of Alternation contributes significantly and consistently to the development of the subjects (the young participants in the study), in ways that align with the principles of Rural Education.
