Cerebral Vascular Disease (CVD) is a pathology characterized by a neurological deficit resulting from an alteration in cerebral blood circulation that persists for at least 24 hours. Physiotherapy intervention plays an extremely important role in patients discharged from hospital with a diagnosis of CVD. Physiotherapist care consists of performing exercises that ensure gains in range of motion (ROM) to maintain joint integrity and prevent muscle contractures. The present study aims to evaluate the evolution of the patient diagnosed with Cerebral Vascular Disease (CVD) through physiotherapeutic treatment. The following descriptive, analytical and qualitative case study was carried out at the Physiotherapy Teaching Clinic at UNIG, containing a sample of a single patient diagnosed with Ischemic Cerebral Vascular Disease, being carried out through the elaboration, analysis and interpretation of data obtained through the anamnesis and physical examination, being carried out conducts of physiotherapeutic guidelines, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), Kinesiotherapy, muscle stretching, trunk balance training, speech stimulation, isometric exercises, transfer training, motor coordination and activities of daily living, gait training, proprioception and balance, presenting satisfactory results in the treatment of the patient. It is concluded that the combination of different therapeutic resources, when applied judiciously and with a sound basis, represents an essential tool to maximize the results in neurological rehabilitation, contributing significantly to the promotion of functionality, independence and quality of life of patients affected by stroke.
