Abstract

The work presents methods based on meaningful learning, proposing the construction of knowledge based on the student's prior knowledge, based on their lived space. When the student develops the content and skills, a certain interdisciplinarity occurs, and this work aims at the global development of these students, presenting situations close to the student's experience, with the objective of involving them in the teaching-learning process, by establishing a dialogue between school knowledge and their daily lives. The work proposes situations and questions that stimulate conversation, the exchange of information and opinions among students, developing oral skills and argumentation, and addresses contemporary themes in a transversal manner. It presents situations that develop the interpretation of geographic space in a contextualized and systematic way, cartographic literacy, which is of utmost importance for reading and for the student's cognitive development. It awakens in the student the importance of self-assessment for the development of critical sense and autonomy. The article was written considering what is expected that students in the initial years of Elementary School should learn according to the National Common Curricular Base - BNCC. It guides teachers to use textbooks, the Internet and technological resources to support them in their classroom work. It presents, in an objective and clear manner, the theoretical-methodological proposal and guidelines on the importance of assessment in the teaching-learning process, presenting assessment instruments; It presents the contents that can be covered year by year, that is, from the 1st to the 5th year of Elementary School, and which are referenced in the BNCC.
