Abstract

Introduction: Obstetric violence is an issue that involves complex interactions between cultural, social and institutional factors, and its approach requires a multidisciplinary perspective. The inclusion of the perspective of obstetric nurses is essential to develop effective interventions that promote a safe and respectful childbirth environment. Objective: To investigate the perceptions of these professionals about obstetric violence. Methodology: This study was conducted through a qualitative literature review, with the purpose of gathering and critically analyzing academic productions that address the perception of obstetric nurses about obstetric violence. Analysis and discussion of the results: From the reading and analysis of the selected texts, three main categories of discussion emerged: Recognition of obstetric violence in the daily lives of obstetric nurses, Challenges faced in professional practice in the face of the institutionalization of violence, and Strategies and paths indicated for the humanization of childbirth care. Conclusion: It is concluded that the humanization of childbirth care and the eradication of obstetric violence depend on a collective mobilization involving managers, health professionals, educational institutions and society itself. It is necessary to transform not only the protocols and physical structures, but also the power relations and values that guide obstetric practice. In this sense, qualified listening, respect for women's subjectivity and the appreciation of care as an ethical and political act should guide all actions aimed at childbirth, ensuring a safe, welcoming and humanized process.
