Abstract

A lot is sad in the media (newspapers, magazines, internet, television) about the intense need of companies to hire leaders with susteinable perspectives. The UNO (United Nations Organization) established a set of iniciatives, for the period between 2005 and 2014, focused on the advertisement of Sustainable Development. The number of companies which comunicate their efforts to become more susteinable has grown, fact proved by the number of reports on sustenability produced in the last few years, which has also risen. In view of that, this paper was organized and resulted in a bibliographic-theorcial reasearch about the theme of the Education of the Susteinable Leader. We tried to present and discuss the importance of family education and academic formation for the citizen in general and, most importantly, for the susteinable leader. The present work also sought to discuss the principles and legistation that guide Education and the way it manifests nowadays. So, in Chapter 1 we discuss the concept of Enviroment Management. In Chapter 2 we approach the Enviromental Legislation to reach Chapter 3, which turns to the Leader’s Education. At that moment, we concentrate on educational legislation which shows, in an objective way, the rights and duties of students, schools, leaders and competent organs, which have the duty to provide decent conditions of access to education. The final result of this paper was the perception of a “sustainable conscience”, connected to the Sustainable Acts. Regarding children, any concept taught during their growth will have obvious return. In the case of teens and adults, the sustainable conscience is more related to voluntary adoption. Submerged in the matter by the media, adults analise and criticize the current way to do things and contradistinguish with the different method suggested by sustainability. In other words, in adults the responsible conscience is incited and then acquired. In short, the present monography had the intention to discuss the formation of the sustainable leader, his first contact with sustainable aspects and with the enviroment, to verify if there is – or not – a personal sustainable profile.
