Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) represent a global health challenge and are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in Brazil, linked to genetic factors, aging and lifestyles. Psychology, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), emerges as a support for emotional coping and for modifying dysfunctional life patterns. Aim: This study aimed to verify the contributions of CBT in the treatment of NCDs. Methodology: An integrative literature review was carried out in the SciELO, Lilacs, PubMed and PsycINFO databases, using DeCS/MeSH descriptors such as "Chronic Disease" and "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy", and their equivalents in English, combined with NCD terms and Boolean operators. Results: Eleven articles with results were highlighted, identifying CBT as contributing to the treatment of several NCDs (cancer, psoriasis, chronic pain, eating disorders, obesity, chemical dependency, fibromyalgia), promoting symptom reduction, improved quality of life and behavioral changes. Conclusion: CBT proved to be an adaptable and effective therapeutic tool in the care of patients with chronic diseases.
