During the COVID-19 pandemic, violence against women has worsened, reflecting a cultural and historical phenomenon that is difficult to detect. The problem has become an urgent public health issue, with many women facing the consequences of abuse. This study aims to discuss the role of psychologists in assisting victims of violence, analyzing behaviors and treatments adopted during social isolation. This is a literature review based on the descriptors: “psychology” [and] “violence against women” [and] “COVID-19 pandemic”. Data were collected from databases such as Scielo, CAPES, and the National Research Report of the DataSenado Institute in partnership with the Observatory of Women against Violence (OMV), from 2015 to 2025. It was observed that psychologists play a fundamental role in offering emotional support, identifying safety strategies, and promoting resilience. In addition, psychologists act in the early detection of signs of abuse and in the implementation of preventive actions, through individual or group therapies. It is concluded that psychological action is essential to address this serious social problem, contributing to the well-being and protection of women during and after crisis situations such as the pandemic.
