This scientific article explores the relevance of active listening in the context of early childhood education, investigating its impact on children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. The objective was to analyze how the practice of attentive listening by educators can positively influence the construction of knowledge, the establishment of secure bonds, and the promotion of children's autonomy. The methodology used consisted of a comprehensive literature review, with an analysis of theoretical and empirical studies that address the theme of listening in early childhood. The results indicate that active listening is a powerful pedagogical tool, capable of fostering effective communication, the expression of feelings and ideas, and the development of empathy in children. The conclusions highlight the need for continuous training of educators to improve their listening skills, emphasizing the crucial role of this practice in building a welcoming and stimulating educational environment for full child development.
