Childhood sexual abuse can have profound and lasting psychological effects, affecting women's mental health in adulthood. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has proven effective in treating symptoms such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and low self- esteem, offering tools for recovery and emotional strengthening. This study aims to analyze the consequences of childhood abuse, such as mental disorders (depression, anxiety, PTSD), difficulties in interpersonal relationships, and risk behaviors, such as substance abuse and self-harm. The research will be conducted through a qualitative literature review, using sources such as the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and SciELO. The focus is to explore how CBT can reduce negative symptoms, improve self-esteem, and restore the ability to establish healthy relationships, with trust and effective communication. The study seeks to highlight the benefits of this therapeutic approach to treat the psychological consequences of childhood sexual abuse, offering valuable information for health professionals and contributing to more effective interventions in supporting victims. The ultimate goal is to promote the recovery and well-being of women, aiming at their long-term emotional and social reintegration.
