The theme of this article is an issue that aims to protect women who are victims of domestic and family violence in Brazil through alternative protective measures considering the Maria da Penha Law created in 2006. The objective of this article is to identify alternatives to ensure that the protective measures of the Maria da Penha Law are effective in the fight against domestic violence against women. The methodology used was explanatory research with a qualitative approach supported by bibliographic and documentary techniques, based on surveys to be carried out in the databases of police stations and social assistance agencies in Palmas, Tocantins. The results indicate that there are women who experience situations of violence on a daily basis. In the state, the daily frequency was reported in 293 cases, while 104 said that the attacks occur occasionally. Black and brown women are the most frequent victims, and husbands and partners or ex-partners are those who most often commit violent acts. It is concluded that, in order to ensure the effectiveness of the protective measures of the Maria da Penha Law, a coordinated set of actions that combine surveillance, training, access to justice and severe sanctions is crucial. Partnerships between different institutions and raising awareness among the population are essential to establish a safe and welcoming environment for women in situations of violence, thus facilitating the efficient application of the protective guidelines. In the city of Palmas, collaboration protocols were drawn up between various sectors, such as justice, health, social assistance and public safety, aiming to create a unified support network for victims.
