PATIENT SAFETY CENTER’S ACTION IN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF PRESSURE INJURIES

Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence in national and international literature on the role of patient safety centers in the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries in health institutions. Methods: Integrative literature review, which was carried out from August 2024 to July 2025. Primary studies were collected in four databases relevant to the health and nursing areas: Medline/PubMed; Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS); Nursing Database (BDEnf) via the Virtual Health Library – BVS (BIREME); and; Embase. Results and Discussions: Formulating care protocols has a direct impact on reducing harm to patients and aims to guide NSP professionals to provide safe care. Conclusions: Implementing safety protocols and training the nursing team are crucial to ensuring the safety and quality of patient care.
