This article analyzes the contributions of religiosity to the resocialization process of individuals with a history of chemical dependency and involvement with the prison system, focusing on reducing criminal recidivism. The research employs a literature review and case study analysis, highlighting the Fazenda da Esperança model as a practical example of integration between spirituality, community work, and psychological support. The results indicate that the religious dimension promotes resilience, personal identity reconstruction, and strengthening of social bonds, which are essential factors for successful social reintegration. Furthermore, communal living and spiritual support contribute to reduced relapse and recidivism, positively impacting public safety and collective health. The discussion emphasizes the need for public policies incorporating spirituality as a strategic component in recovery and reintegration programs, expanding their reach and effectiveness. Despite limitations related to cultural diversity and the lack of quantitative data, the research points to future investigation avenues such as longitudinal studies and analysis of the specific influences of different religious traditions. It concludes that integrating religiosity into resocialization processes represents a significant step toward building a more inclusive, humane, and safe society.
