THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MILITARY POLICE IN THE LIFE OF RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS

The general objective of this study was to conceptually examine the process of retirement of military police officers and to study the importance of the Military Police, as a corporation, in assisting these individuals in this process. This was a descriptive qualitative study conducted based on a bibliographic review that was guided by the use of the exploratory method. The results of the study provided the definition of concepts of public servant, military servant, typology of retirements and other related concepts. It is possible to understand what retirement, paid or unpaid reserve and paid retirement for military police officers are. It is concluded that it is very important for the Military Police to adopt proactive measures and programs to promote the well-being of military police officers throughout their careers, including programs that cover psychological support and preventive medical care, especially to facilitate their transition to retirement, retirement, enabling them to move on to this new phase of life and improving their quality of life after active service.
