The cardiovascular system is responsible for transporting substances that are important for human life throughout the body. In order to spread knowledge about this system, the Professor Froes da Fonseca Human Anatomy Academic League (LAAHFF) took its extension project, Anatomy in Schools Project, to 8th grade elementary school students at Colégio Estadual Centenário, located in Vassouras, RJ. The project consists of a lecture to students about a system of the human body. The chosen system was the cardiovascular system. This lecture is held in two parts: a theoretical one and a practical one, with students interacting with cadaveric specimens from the anatomy department at the University of Vassouras. In addition, students were given practical examples of the content they had learned, such as Systemic Arterial Hypertension and Atherosclerosis. The results of this visit were seen by the lecturers as positive, since the dynamic generated interest and enthusiasm in most students for the content and for higher education courses in the health area. Furthermore, the project served as a way to "demystify the human body* since the structures shown in practice were very different from the previous idea created by the students.
