Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that poses significant challenges for diagnosis and treatment, especially in regions with limited resources, such as small towns in the Alto Sertão region of Paraíba. The scarcity of specialized services and difficult access to information make the management of ASD even more complex, directly impacting the quality of life of diagnosed children and their families. Objective: To report the experience of dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a small town in the Alto Sertão region of Paraíba. Methodology: The study adopted the experience report approach, narrating an experience at the Health Specialties Center (CES) in Bernardino Batista/PB. Data collection involved visits to the institution, direct observations of care, conversations with the multidisciplinary team, and analysis of records on the development of the child being monitored. The inclusion resources offered by the municipality, such as NAP/EI and AEE, in addition to face-to-face and remote guidance, were also considered. Experience report: CES provides specialized care to children and adolescents with disorders such as ASD, ADHD, ODD and intellectual disability, focusing on comprehensive development and family participation. The report highlights the case of a child with ASD and intellectual disability, living in a rural area, who is monitored weekly by a multidisciplinary team. The monitoring includes play therapies, AEE sessions and guidance for caregivers. The municipality of Sousa also contributes with complementary services such as NAP/EI and the future CAEE, demonstrating efforts to promote the school and social inclusion of these children. Conclusion: The experience reinforces the importance of an integrated approach between health professionals, education professionals and the family for the progress of children with ASD. The participation of the nursing student proved to be significant in the therapeutic and educational support, promoting emotional bonds and helping to organize adapted routines. The municipality's investment in inclusion policies demonstrates its commitment to a more accessible and welcoming society for people with special needs.
