Divorce, a phenomenon consolidated in the contemporary legal and social landscape, presents significant impacts on the emotional, behavioral, and academic development of minor children. This study analyzes, in light of brazilian legislation and specialized doctrine, the main repercussions of marital dissolution on the lives of children and adolescents, with a special focus on coparenting practices, parental alienation, and strategies for promoting child resilience. The research, of a qualitative and exploratory nature, is based on recent bibliographic surveys, covering legal and psychological works published nationally over the last decade. It was found that the manner in which divorce is conducted by parents directly influences the adjustment of children, with the maintenance of healthy affective bonds and integrated action between family, school, and social support networks being essential factors for overcoming adversity. The study also highlights the importance of the judiciary's role in protecting the fundamental right to family life and in preventing parental alienation practices, in accordance with the principle of comprehensive protection established by the federal constitution and the child and adolescent statute. It concludes that the responsible management of the separation process and the implementation of public policies aimed at protecting childhood are essential to ensure the full and harmonious development of children and adolescents in contexts of family rupture.
