Objectives: To analyze available evidence on the effectiveness and challenges of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in coronary artery disease. Methodology: An integrative literature review, carried out in May 2025. The PICO strategy was used, in which the population (P) are patients with coronary artery disease; interest (I) is percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI); context (C) is revascularization surgery; and outcome (O). The guiding question of the research was: What is the available evidence on the effectiveness and challenges of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in coronary artery disease? Results: The Virtual Health Library (VHL) was used to conduct the research. A total of 209 articles were found, and of these, 7 articles were used in the discussion. Conclusion: Although technology is gradually advancing, there are still gaps in research on the treatment of coronary artery disease, making it necessary to invest in research to improve patient treatment.
