This article analyzes the complex relationship between agribusiness and agrarian conflicts in the state of Rondônia, highlighting the origin of the state in 1981 and the historical context that favored the intensification of conflicts in the countryside. The research investigates how the absence of structured and articulated public policies contributed to the emergence and perpetuation of conflicts related to land ownership, exploitation of natural resources and labor rights. The analysis addresses the principles of Agrarian Law and the social function of rural property, highlighting the challenges imposed by land concentration and the marginalization of small farmers. In addition, the article discusses the performance of the judiciary and the effectiveness of agrarian legislation in resolving conflicts, questioning the effectiveness of the measures implemented so far. Finally, this study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the factors that generate tensions in the countryside, pointing out possible paths for a more sustainable and equitable development in Rondônia.
