Professional training is an essential tool for strengthening local production chains, especially in remote regions such as the interior of the Amazon. This study aimed to analyze the demand for short-term courses in fish processing technology in the municipality of Lábrea, located in the state of Amazonas, identifying the sector’s main training needs. The research was conducted at the Lábrea Municipal Market and local fish markets, which are key hubs for fish trade in the region. Structured questionnaires were administered to fishers, merchants, and consumers, addressing topics such as technical difficulties, interest in courses, and ideal conditions for participation. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with sector professionals to gain a deeper understanding of local demands and challenges. During data collection, participants were presented with available courses in fish processing technology, such as fish filleting, fish cakes, and bone removal, to gauge their interest and gather feedback. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data from the interviews were examined through content analysis. The results indicated high demand for bone removal and filleting courses, a preference for short-term courses (1–2 weeks) held on weekends, and the financial feasibility of implementing the most requested course, estimated at R$ 2,550.00, with the support of local o Instituto Federal do Amazonas – Campus Lábrea.
