In view of this research, this scientific article has the general objective of addressing in a broader way the aspects of musical education and the promotion of mental health of children in basic education, showing a whole history of how music was seen and used since the beginning of time, in which it was seen as spells or miracles, where it had the power to generate fertility in women, in which it could increase or decrease and even generate cures and wonders through faith. In which the issues of music and mental health in school and non-school environments were discussed, showing the difficulties encountered in carrying it out, reflecting on the ways to educate and teach children through music and at the same time promote the development of their brain in a healthy way. To develop the research, we used bibliographic analysis with emphasis on authors who discuss our theme specifically, where we can see their points of view and teachings within the theme, bringing enrichment to the topics covered in this article. Thus, based on our perspective, we detected that despite several studies on the subject separately, music brings several positive results on the development of children, making them absorb knowledge faster while having fun.
