Cleft lip and palate are congenital craniofacial malformations with a multifactorial etiology that significantly impact the aesthetic, functional, and emotional aspects of affected individuals, potentially increasing infant morbidity and mortality due to complications. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of cleft lip and palate cases in the state of Paraná between 2019 and 2023, using secondary data from the SUS Hospital Information System (SIHSUS), accessed via DATASUS. Factors such as macro-region, sex, race, maternal age, education level, gestational duration, and number of prenatal visits were evaluated. A total of 421 cases were recorded, with the highest number reported in the East (46.08%) and West (26.6%) macro-regions. The male sex was more prevalent, accounting for 61.7% of cases, and the white race was predominant (70%). The average prevalence of cleft lip and palate in Paraná was 5.8 cases per 10,000 live births. The analysis highlights the importance of proper case reporting and the early implementation of surgical treatment with a multidisciplinary approach to minimize functional, emotional, and aesthetic impacts.
