Abstract

Learning is a process in which skills are built or improved. It can be built through theoretical or practical means, as well as a combination of both. Since practical experience creates and shapes learning, which when done in a group has the possibility of transferring it to other people, Communities of Practice (CoPs) have been increasingly studied in the professional and academic development environment, where the application of the basic assumptions of CoPs can be observed. Thus, the choice of the 7 articles used for this review was made through the literature of the title, abstract and full articles found between the years 2021 to 2024 on the theme of this literature review and these show the diversity of subjects and contexts in which Communities of Practice can be applied. It is concluded that despite the limitations in their application due to factors external to them, CoPs can be of great value for learning, as well as improving a practice and transferring knowledge.
