This article addresses the population growth of the elderly, focusing on the Brazilian context, and discusses the challenges and opportunities of teaching and learning in old age. Strategies for the inclusion of older adults in educational practices are analyzed, considering their specificities and potential. Additionally, the presence of the English language in Brazil is highlighted, from its introduction to its consolidation as a highly relevant language. Finally, the importance of learning English in old age is emphasized, highlighting its cognitive and social benefits for improving the quality of life of the elderly.
