Abstract

The importance of technology in education is currently much discussed, but when we talk about special education it becomes almost mandatory, since many people depend on this medium to have access to learning and acquire the basic skills that are the right of every citizen. Combining technology with special education guarantees the right to access knowledge, giving individuals a chance to show their potential like any citizen considered 'normal' before society. The problem that guided the investigation was: How does gamification increase inclusion in the educational environment of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? In turn, the general objective of this research was to understand how gamification increases inclusion in the educational environment of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In view of the general objective outlined, the following specific objectives were outlined: to identify which active methodologies are used to increase the inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD); to analyze the use of gamification in the classroom with autistic students; to understand the potential of gamification in the inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research adopted a qualitative methodological approach based on the development of bibliographical research. The results obtained from the research demonstrated the importance of information and communication technology resources for the learning of students with autism spectrum disorder. The use of gamification is a resource that can be a great ally in increasing student engagement and motivation. Its proposal is innovative since it transforms elements of a game into a means of engaging its participants and making activities more enjoyable.
