This study aimed to analyze the implementation of competency-based recruitment in organizations, seeking to answer the following question: How can competency-based recruitment be implemented in organizations, ensuring the selection of candidates aligned with the strategic and operational needs of companies? To this end, a bibliographic research methodology was adopted, with a review of articles, books and case studies related to the topic. The analysis revealed that the implementation of competency-based recruitment improves the suitability of candidates' profiles for the roles, mainly by focusing on the technical, behavioral and cognitive skills essential for the position. However, the study also pointed out that the main difficulty in adopting this model lies in cultural and organizational barriers, such as the resistance of managers and employees to changes in the recruitment processes. It was highlighted that the use of technological tools, such as recruitment software and competency assessment platforms, facilitates implementation by automating and optimizing stages of the selection process. The results showed that companies that implemented competency-based recruitment observed improvements in productivity and talent retention. The final considerations indicated that, although competency-based recruitment brings benefits, an ongoing commitment to defining competencies and adopting new technologies is necessary. Furthermore, the research suggested the need for further studies to assess the impact of this approach in different organizational contexts.
