Abstract

The Roma people have an uncertain origin, with several subgroups among them with varied dialects and customs. Since the 10th century, this group has been suffering injustices both from societies and from governments themselves. In Brazil, this issue was no different, being considered traditional Brazilian peoples by legal means only in 1993, however only 13.7% of their population have access to the fundamental social rights provided for by the 1988 constitution, which aim to eradicate social inequalities. Therefore, this work aims to review the scarce literature that addresses this theme in order to discover what its causes are and propose a solution through dialectic.
