This study investigated the impact of active methodologies on the educational process of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), with the aim of analyzing how these methodologies could transform teaching and improve students’ academic performance. The research adopted a qualitative approach, with a bibliographic methodology, reviewing relevant studies, articles and books on the subject. The contributions of active methodologies to EJA were analyzed, including practices such as problem-based learning, gamification and the use of digital technologies. The results indicated that active methodologies have promoted dynamic and collaborative teaching, increasing student engagement and promoting their autonomy in the learning process. In addition, these methodologies have proven effective in overcoming common challenges in EJA, such as the heterogeneity of classes and the diverse educational trajectories of students. However, the research also pointed out limitations, such as teacher resistance, technological difficulties and lack of infrastructure, which can hinder the implementation of these methodologies. The final considerations suggested that continued teacher training and improved infrastructure are essential for the successful implementation of active methodologies in EJA. It is recommended that further studies be carried out to explore the long-term impacts of these methodologies and their adaptation to different regional and cultural contexts.
