This article sought to analyze the complexity of assessment in the area of Youth and Adult Education, highlighting the likely solutions to improve its implementation, ensuring a meaningful, humanized and contextualized education for all. Youth and Adult Education (EJA) has the mission of promoting social inclusion and guaranteeing the right to education. It is an educational model that values the integral development of the student, considering their intellectual, affective and collective skills. LDB nº 9.394/96 in Art. 1º establishes that education encompasses the formative processes that develop in family life, in human coexistence, at work, in teaching and research institutions, in social movements and civil society organizations and in cultural manifestations. The methods applied were research in books and scientific articles to collect data and compare them with the reality of the school where the work was developed. The results of the research showed, however, that assessment in this context continues to face challenges such as heterogeneity, the discrepant level of maturity and understanding of the content being studied, and a lack of human and material resources to be able to apply differentiated methodologies. It is necessary to discuss appropriate methodological approaches and propose strategies to improve the evaluation process, with the intention of having more effective teaching, a more humanized evaluation and so that the theory can make sense in the students' lives.
