The challenges and opportunities that technology introduces to the teaching and learning process in an increasingly connected society, accompanied by technological advancements and the comprehensive development of students aligned with the competencies and demands of the 21st century, include resistance from some teachers due to the lack of continuous training, concerns that the use of digital devices may lead to mere copying and memorization, and digital exclusion resulting from inadequate infrastructure and limited internet access. These factors underscore the necessity of rethinking pedagogical practices so that technology becomes not just an additional resource, but an effective ally in fostering critical and creative individuals. The text reflects on difficulties ranging from access issues and lack of knowledge to inclusive policies and the obstacles encountered during the Covid-19 pandemic. It describes the practices of two educators in their daily school routines, highlighting that when technologies are integrated consciously and strategically, they can enhance the quality of education by increasing interaction, collaboration, and student agency. Finally, it emphasizes the importance of investing in teacher training, as well as public policies that promote digital inclusion and pedagogical innovation, to prepare students for the challenges of an increasingly technological future.
