The main purpose of this article is to identify the main aspects of teaching practices during the pandemic period in Brazil, and the consequences of COVID-19 on education. Education has experienced abrupt changes, especially with regard to activities related to teaching practices. Since access to schools has been interrupted, the abstract, face-to-face classroom has become secondary, and teachers have had to review their teaching practices, adapting to a new classroom format, in this case, online classes. In this context, DICT - DIGITAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES - were introduced into teaching practices, so new teaching-learning mechanisms were used and accessed, with the creation of WhatsApp groups, which involved classes, students, teachers, parents, coordinators and school directors, and classes began to be experienced through technological resources, such as: google meet, google classroom, zoom, synchronous and asynchronous classes, video calls, video lessons, email and PDF. Thus, the new pedagogical practices have brought great challenges and consequences for both the student body and the teaching staff, as well as for the construction of knowledge, which in a way should be significant and satisfactory, which could culminate in a quality education, where students' rights are guaranteed.
