This research addresses Snapchat Dysmorphia from the perspective of adolescents in Mato Grosso do Sul, analyzing the impact of digital filters on young women's self-image and self-esteem. Through a Roundtable Discussion held in October 2022, the study aimed to understand whether adolescents feel the need to modify their bodies based on images generated by augmented reality tools available on social media. In addition to data collection, the research functioned as an intervention, providing a critical reflection on social expectations of beauty and the emotional impacts of excessive filter use. The results indicate that most participants have felt the desire to alter their appearance to resemble their digitally edited images, highlighting the influence of social media on self-image construction. The study also reveals that excessive concern with aesthetics can affect emotional health, reinforcing unattainable beauty standards and contributing to insecurities and body image disorders. Finally, the importance of spaces for dialogue and critical education on the subject is emphasized, both in school and family environments, to help adolescents accept their natural features and build a healthier self-image.
