Teenage pregnancy is a relevant public health issue in Brazil, associated with pathological, psychological, and social risks that impact the quality of life of adolescents and their families. This study reports an experience developed as part of a medical school extension project with 9th-grade students from Colégio Municipal Humberto de Campos, in Eunápolis, Bahia. The objective was to evaluate the impact of educational activities on promoting knowledge about teenage pregnancy, prevention through contraceptive methods, and the perception of family support. Methodologically, an experience report with an exploratory and descriptive approach was adopted, using questionnaires applied before and after educational activities, which included lectures, interactive games, and counseling sessions. The activities addressed topics such as gestational risks (preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and preterm birth), contraceptive methods, and family support. A total of 56 students participated, whose knowledge and perceptions of the subject were assessed before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge about the risks of teenage pregnancy, with 100% of the students recognizing these risks after the activities, compared to 80.39% initially. Knowledge about contraceptive methods increased from 79.59% to 98%, and practical skills in using them rose from 67.35% to 94%. Additionally, there was an improvement in the perception of emotional and financial family support, highlighting the importance of family engagement in reproductive health. It is concluded that the implementation of continuous and interactive educational programs in schools is essential for promoting sexual and reproductive health, emphasizing the family’s role as a crucial element in supporting adolescents. These findings reinforce the need for public policies that integrate education, prevention, and support to effectively address early pregnancy.
