Advances in information and communication technologies have brought about significant changes in human relations, including in the world of work. The objective of this article is to analyze the main aspects of teleworking, assessing its impact on organizations, workers, and management dynamics, as well as discussing the challenges and opportunities provided by this work model in the current context. The Internet and social networks have impacted several areas, such as education, health, politics, and economics, facilitating communication and the performance of activities remotely. The concept of teleworking, promoted by Jack Niles (1997), has become a viable alternative in the corporate environment, with the evolution of technologies. Since the 1990s, teleworking has been a topic of study in several areas, mainly in administration, and in recent years it has also involved sociology, psychology, medicine, and law. Globalization and the use of digital platforms have allowed many workers to work outside the physical location of the company, challenging traditional forms of employment relationships. From a sustainability perspective, teleworking is seen as a strategy that contributes to cost reduction.
