Introduction: Endoscopic gastroplasty has emerged as an innovative alternative in the treatment of obesity, standing out for its minimally invasive approach compared to traditional bariatric surgery. Objective: to analyze, based on literature evidence, the effectiveness of endoscopic gastroplasty in aiding weight loss. Methodology: This is a bibliographical research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected in a virtual database. For this purpose, the VHL was used, in the following information base: LILACS; MEDLINE and Google Scholar, where 25 articles were selected. Results: From the application of the thematic content analysis methodology and a reflective reading of the data, four main categories emerged, which are presented below: I - Description of techniques and procedures in endoscopic gastroplasty; II - Evaluation of results and efficacy in endoscopic gastroplasty; III - Identification of diagnoses and conditions associated with endoscopic gastroplasty; IV - Development of recommendations and guidelines in endoscopic gastroplasty. Conclusion: Endoscopic gastroplasty has stood out as a promising alternative to aid weight loss, as evidenced in this literature review. As it is a minimally invasive technique, it presents favorable results compared to traditional methods.
