In view of the obstacles and challenges that affect the development and quality standards of National Education and considering the provisions of the legal framework and the practice of the educational process, a great professional concern has arisen in the theory of school dropout in the EJA (Youth and Adult Education) modality. Nowadays, school dropout has become one of the negative factors for the success and progress of the educational process, hence the need to investigate the reasons and justification for the dropout of EJA students, with the aim of seeking solutions and/or methodological alternatives so that we can reverse this reality. This research is characterized as being qualitative in nature, through a critical analysis of innovations in accordance with the specific curriculum guidelines for the EJA. During the analysis, it was found that the EJA modality, despite its advances, still causes concern, as each year the number of students who drop out or drop out of school is worrying. The reasons are the same: work, pregnancy, lack of interest in studies, but the school's performance is also a factor in dropout; on the other hand, there are students who drop out because they don't feel challenged or stimulated.
