This article addresses the Prova Brasil as an essential educational assessment in the context of Brazilian public schools, analyzing its challenges and impacts on educational policies. It begins with an introduction to the importance of this test in measuring the quality of basic education, highlighting its relevance for educational diagnosis and the formulation of public policies. The research addresses the methodology of the test, describing its objectives, structure, and data collection and analysis procedures. Next, the external factors that influence the results of the assessment and their repercussions on investment decisions in education are discussed. The article offers a critical analysis of the limitations and strengths of the Prova Brasil, proposing strategies for its improvement and suggesting improvements in the methodology. Finally, the study presents practical recommendations for improving educational assessment in Brazil and summarizes the main points addressed throughout the article.
