Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges and innovations in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in Brazil, focusing on strategies to promote inclusion and citizenship. Through a systematic literature review and interviews with educators, the research investigates public policies, pedagogical practices, and future perspectives for EJA. The results indicate that the implementation of active methodologies, digital technologies, and personalized teaching approaches has significant potential to improve the quality and relevance of EJA. However, challenges such as the heterogeneity of the public, infrastructure limitations, and the need for specific teacher training persist. Proposals for the future include integration between education and the world of work, training for digital citizenship, and diversification of delivery modalities. The research highlights the importance of a holistic approach that considers the social and emotional dimensions of learning, in addition to cognitive development. It concludes that investment in innovations in EJA is crucial not only for the educational success of students but also for promoting social equity and sustainable development of the country. The effectiveness of these innovations depends on consistent public policies, continuous teacher training, and intersectoral collaboration.
