Abstract

In the contemporary world, it is difficult not to consider the technology tool in the activity of human beings, making it important to reflect on better ways to use it in everyday life, including in education. The article is a literature review, the research was carried out during the second half of 2023, in October, through the scientific databases SciELO and Google Scholar. With the use of the descriptors "Technology" and "Brazilian Education" through the Boolean operator "AND". Studies published between 2018 and 2023 were selected as inclusion criteria, in order to portray the production of the last 5 years, in Portuguese, with articles, theses and dissertations available as complete and free works. Regarding the exclusion criteria, paid works, in another language, incomplete and that do not comply with the proposed theme were delimited. Most of the works address the effects of technologies on academic performance, as well as the difficulties, challenges encountered in this inclusion and the benefits of their use in education. Technology is embedded in society, and the school is not immune to it. In view of this, teachers, managers and authorities can create spaces to reflect on this growing phenomenon, outlining better strategies for its use in educational institutions, in addition to the need for investment in infrastructure, appreciation of education professionals and provision of continuing education for teachers.
